17. The Risen Lord (I Corinthinas 15:42-44, Luke 24:2-3, Matthew 28:5-6)
Our Resurrection window tells in tradional symbol and picture the good news that Christ has triumphed over death.
the left lancet visualizes the beautiful butterfly that emerges from the ugly outer cocoon to soar heavenward on new wings. The child of God is promised that he too shall have a new and beautiful spiritual body.
This promis is valid because Christ was able to burst the tomb on Easter Day and come forth alive. The bursting pomegranate is a familiar symbol of the resurrection, reminding us of the power of Christ to break the bonds of death.
In the center we see the angel proclaiming that good news to the women who came to the tomb to seek Him.
