19. Parables of Jesus (Luke 15:11-32, 10:25-37, Matthew 13, 20:1-6, 25:31-46)
Jesus was a teacher, and His most effective teaching was incorporated in the stories He told - The Parables.
The left lancet symbolizes two of the most familiar. At the top is the forgiving father extending his hands in welcome to the repentant, prodigal son. Below is the ministering hand of the Samaritan who has become known as good.
The center panel represents several stories about the sowing of seed as recorded in Matthew 13.
On the right at the top we see the parable of the householder who hired laborers for his vineyard, with the hour glass sumbolizing the day and hour, while the tools refer to the toil. The lower medalion shows the shephard's crook separating the sheep from the goats, the familiar parable of the judgement.
