Lenten Season at Broadway
Lent is a forty-day period before Easter. Lent begins on February 17, Ash Wednesday, and ends on April 3, which is the day before Easter. We skip Sundays when we count the forty days, because Sundays commemorate the Resurrection.

Lent is a season of soul-searching and repentance. It is a time when we imitate Jesus’ withdrawal into the wilderness for forty days for reflection and taking stock. At Broadway, we have two special opportunities for you to participate with Christians around the world in this time of rededication. The first of these opportunities is for personal reflection based on the Bible. The second is an opportunity to explore the discipline of Lent in fellowship with a group. Narrative Theology Reading Group

The Library and Lydia's in the Library invite you to a reading group led by Darren J. N. Middleton. On these Sundays, we will gather to probe the theological ideas expressed in various works of contemporary and classic novels, short stories, poetry, and memoir. The selections to be read and discussed this Winter and Spring are as follows:

March 28 Anne Rice, "Christ the Lord: The Road to Cana"

May 2 Denise Giardina, "Saints and Villains"

The group will meet from 12:45 - 2:00 p.m. in the Bible Room located inside the library. Copies of the books are available in Lydia's for purchase.
