Shepherd Ministry - A Lay Ministry At Broadway

Volunteer Shepherd lay ministers are prayer and care ministers six days a week, with Deacons serving as Shepherds on Sundays. Duties include: an hour of intercessory prayer, phone calls and/or notes to members based on their birthdays, church anniversary date, sickness, homeboundness, and death in families.

This is a ministry by which every member of the church is touched by the care of Christ several times a year. If the volunteer feels more in-depth care is needed, he or she notifies the appropriate church staff member.

The Shepherd hours are flexible; when you volunteer you choose the day or days you wish to shepherd each month or every other month. You decide how much time you can give.

Men's Group

Broadway has long been associated with Baptist traditions. The men's group continues this tradition and strives to make a difference in our church, our community, and themselves personally by meeting regularly and working to recognize the needs that can be met by such a group. Goals being established by this group:
To serve and love the Lord so that He might express Himself through us.
To provide nurture for group members.
A place to talk to other men, a place to be vulnerable/supportive.
Giving testimony.
To promote positive role models.
To develop shared values.
To be helpful to new church members and encourage their involvement.
To participate in community mission/ministry efforts.
To enhance fellowship and have fun.
To study the bible.
To pray.
